About Us
Busy Lizzies is a Craft Shop situated in the idillic Devon village of Newton Poppleford. Selling a range of unique and inspiring produce and collectable craft items.
The idea for the shop came about whilst talking to the many artisans that live in the area. It soon became apparent that many skilled and talented individuals lacked a suitable outlet, free from buying restrictions of brand name stores, for the sale of their wares.
Busy Lizzies was therefore developed to provide such an outlet. Where small is beautifull and hand made is king. The result is a step back in time to the way small rural economy’s flourished before modern consumerism became the norm. This benefits the producer / artist by having a direct route to market cutting out the middle-man and enableing them to get new products on to the shelves as soon as they are made. It also benefits the customer by being able to obtain new and in many cases unique gifts that are simply unavailable outside of the local area.
Whilst the shop is the heart of Busy Lizzies, we also attend many craft fayres in and outside of the local area taking the products to a larger demographic week in, week out.
The nature of the business also means that the product on sale changes frequently with new lines introduced all the time. Thus each visit is a refreshing experience.
